02 · What a field season looks like

Pre-season planning:

Genesis queries prior survey notes, last year's observations at the same sites, citation lookups for new species you might encounter.
Maths sets up power analysis to determine sample sizes you need this season.

In the field (no internet, no cloud):

Every observation, every photo, every audio capture signs into Genesis on your Pi or laptop. Timestamps from GPS; nothing depends on a server connection.
Genesis pulls last week's observations at this transect to compare against today's.

End of season:

Maths runs population estimates (Lincoln-Petersen, jolly-Seber) with signed receipts.
Genesis surfaces trends across the full season's records.
Export your signed Genesis for archival, sharing with collaborators, or publication appendix.

Manuscript prep:

Every figure number, every statistical claim links to its signed computation receipt — reviewer 2 can verify.
Multi-year studies: query across the cumulative Genesis going back to season 1.

03 · What you keep that a cloud platform can't give you

▸ Works in the field by physics. No internet means no cloud platform works. Validiti runs on your Pi or laptop entirely offline; data syncs when you're back in range, if you want.
▸ Your research history is portable. Change institutions, lose grant funding, retire — your signed Genesis stays with you. Doesn't disappear when an institutional subscription lapses.
▸ Publication-grade statistical receipts. Every analysis traceable to its inputs and signed computation. Reproducibility crisis solved at the math layer.
▸ Citizen scientists welcome. No institutional affiliation required. It’s reachable for a serious amateur naturalist.

Honest about what's not included: The bundle does not provide a species reference database, taxonomy feed, or biodiversity portal (iNaturalist, eBird, GBIF). You bring the references you have a right to access. Validiti supplies the analytical + signed-record layer underneath your existing data sources. The bundle is not a substitute for IRB approval or appropriate permitting for your research.
